howyadoing howyadoing Getting the hang of it Registered: 2002-06-01 Posts: 86 Loc: Cincinnati	I have disk quotas running on my windows 2000 server. There is a field for warning and it puts an event in the event log. Is there a way I can write a script that when a disk quota warning comes in the event log it would send the user an email telling them they are running out of disk space before it denys them?

They have a couple of VBScript example scripts. Or take a look at the ReadEVentlog() UDF. However, I would highly recommend a professional disk quota software, such as W. Quinn / Precise (http://www.precise.com/Solutions/Storage/ ) The build-in quota-management is bare-bones and more or less unusable if you really want to do meaningful quoteas. [ 20. Basically, you would pull the events since the last check out of the eventlog and then take appropiate action based on the event info. _________________________ There are two types of vessels, submarines and targets.
