When processing the logon script in combination with Altiris NS client the kixtart application crashes with the following error message:

Faulting application kix32.exe, version 4.12.0.0, faulting module kix32.exe version 4.12.0.0, fault address 0x001d0ec

Login script is processed true GPO with user login script.

Anybody has noticed any issue about this ?

KiX 4.12 is no longer in beta so this thread does not really belong here. I will move it to 'Starters' and close this copy here.

Not a known issue as far as I know.

Please post more information on the type of fault (c0000006, c0000005, ?) and the batch and/or script used.

Regards,

Ruud

before ruud gets to answer...
could you try to call kix directly (skip the vbs)

this means that you specify in the policy:
"path\kix32 logon.scr"

this does not solve the issue but may work as workaround... who knows.

Can you run the KiXtart script from the command line after you logged on?

In short: a c0000006 exception always, always means access to the device from which data/code was being read was lost.

In this case, it means access to the system volume was lost while KIX32 was still running. Possible causes include network problems or severe delays caused by anti-virus software. Also, the exception may be a result of asynchronous processing of the logon script. Possible workarounds include running the executable from the local harddisk, or running it from a batchfile using the START /w command (thereby preventing the automatic disconnect of the connection to SYSVOL).

Kind regards,

Ruud
