#37944 - 2003-03-17 11:09 AM Losing characters in SendKeys?
pvp pvp Lurker Registered: 2003-03-17 Posts: 2 Loc: UK	I have written a Kixtart script to call up Internet Explorer and an application within it. This script works some of the time but at other times either freezes or goes off in a strange direction best interpreted as some of the SendKey characters going astray. This happens with an identical unchanged script. I am on NT4 SP6. Any ideas? pvp

So any thoughts you have from your experience about 'timing issues' would be very valuable to me. It DOES sound like that sort of problem. I look forward to hearing from both of you. pvp

Les Les KiX Master Registered: 2001-06-11 Posts: 12734 Loc: fortfrances.on.ca	SetFocus() and SendKeys() are a kludgy way to automate as there is often insufficient feedback on the current screen to know if the app is ready for more keystrokes. You should look into AutoIT which has the ability to read characters on the screen. _________________________ Give a man a fish and he will be back for more.
