Why do you need 8.3 notation? Can't you put quotes around the filename? Please elaborate. _________________________ There are two types of vessels, submarines and targets.

Darren_W Darren_W Hey THIS is FUN Registered: 2001-10-10 Posts: 208 Loc: Bristol, England	Hi, Well if you wish to do a recusive copy of files and folders with xcopy within kix, when used on win9x, it does not recognise the full path name if it is not in 8.3 notation. To call it from kix is a problem because I think you cant have double sets of speech marks? With 230+ users with W9x to support upgrading is not a solution.
