It's something else;
If I boot the computer, log on as normal user, the model and serial are NOT logged. If I log off, make the test user local admin (do so remote) and log on again, the serial and model ARE logged. If I then log off again, and remove the user's local admin rights, making him a normal user again, and log on, the serial and model ARE logged too.
Conclusion; as long as an admin has logged on, the following users don't need rights anymore to log the data successfully.
Smells like a service that can only be started with admin rights or something. However, I've tried starting all of the services while testing with a non-admin user, and there was no change.
It still requires an admin to log on first. Power user rights are also insufficient. I'll keep trying some other stuff, but I'm running out of options... ?
Any suggestions to try? I've already applied Full Control to everyone on NTFS and on all of HKLM, there was no difference..
