For some reason, the app will not launch when executed in the script. The syntax is:
code:
:install
setl "SU_PASSWORD=password"
setl "SU_COMMANDLINE=\\hounas01\comm_it\applications\uniprint\uniprintclient.exe /s"
setl "SU_DOMAIN=domain_name"
shell "%comspec% /c su administrator"

Su is installed and working. I get no errors when I try to launch the install from a command prompt w/o using su.

Isn't SU part of the Windows resource kit utilities? If so (I may be wrong, but) you would have to copy it up to a location where the script could invoke it under the context of the user logging on. That could mean one public share on a given server, or copied to the scripts folder on all your logon server (through replication).

Then your script would have to reference the call to SU.exe with a qualified path. For example: @lserver+"\su.exe" or something. If you have the resource kit installed on every client, then forget everything I just said. I hope that helps?

SU.exe and SUSS.exe have to be on the client machine... one of which is a service that must be installed, configured, and running to be able to use it

There are hundreds of posts here on this board discussing the use, implementation, and drawbacks of using SU. You can find them easilly using the search function of the board.

There's even a FAQ Forum post about this: Installing an Application as an Admin

That's just it. Su *is* installed and it *is* working. I can test it with notepad and t runs just fine. But for some reason when I call this program over the network, it does not work. It does not give an error - it just does not start the silent install...

Ok - I got it. Instead of using "setl" I used "shell" - it launches and runs now - jst one small problem. It opens a new command prompt window after it's done. How do I close this new window?
