Bayfront Bayfront Lurker Registered: 2003-02-06 Posts: 4	To launch an app in my script, it works fine except for win95a machines. It skips it. Any idea's why?

Lonkero Lonkero KiX Master Guru Registered: 2001-06-05 Posts: 22346 Loc: OK	I don't see any specific fixable reason. the reason is that they are like 2 really different windows versions... the difference is huge and thus not worthwhile investigating. it's easier (as I've done) to make all wksta's on my net NT-based than to try to keep those oldies working _________________________ ! download KiXnet

It just makes me wonder since I can run the app by itself just fine but when kix tries to do it, it doesnt work in 95a, like i said, but 95b is fine. [ 06. Also, it would help if you wouyld post the actual code that generates the problem instead of just stating 'Something doesn't work. How do I fix it?'. Unfortunately the difference between Win95a & Win95b is greater than the difference between Win95b & Win98. Interestingly, Win98 is very close to being a minor upgrade of Win95c with IE embedded. You could try finding all the updates that have been released for Win95a by MS & apply them all but I am not sure it will help. Win95a is a very lame duck. For Win95a update info, try this site: http://www.walbeehm.com/win95upd.html But Jens is quite right. Most of us are making guesses about the problem. Instead of: code: Shell 'Program.exe' Try using: code: Shell '%COMSPEC% /C Start /Wait "Program.exe"' -Erik ps. In Win9x Start.exe is a program found in %windir%\Command, in NT+ it is a build in command
