The networking in Win95a is likely the problem. Unfortunately the difference between Win95a & Win95b is greater than the difference between Win95b & Win98. Interestingly, Win98 is very close to being a minor upgrade of Win95c with IE embedded.

You could try finding all the updates that have been released for Win95a by MS & apply them all but I am not sure it will help. Win95a is a very lame duck.

But Jens is quite right. Most of us are making guesses about the problem. We need more details to understand the problem more clearly.
