$TEMPREGPATH = "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Oracle JInitiator 1.1.8.16"
IF KEYEXIST("$TEMPREGPATH") = 0
MESSAGEBOX("ORACLE Jinitiator 1.1.8.16 will be installed on your machine.",$MSGFROMIT,64,5)
SHELL "$DLSERVER\updates\jinitiator\JInitiator11816En_CH.EXE"

COPY "$DLSERVER\updates\jinitiator\CFG\*.*" "%userprofile%\.java\"
ENDIF

There is a file named "properties" that we want to copy to .java, neither *, *.*; nor the filename works...

it works now and nobody knows why...
we first create the directory .java, even if it already exists. then we copy the config file in the folder, afterwards we install the program.
in this order is works properly!

Thanks for your help guys.

What file system are you using? I suspect a permissions problem.

Who owns the .java folder before you run your script? What user ID are you using when running the script?

The .JAVA folder is set to FULL access for the Administrator, SYSTEM, and the user in which prifile folder it is located. Thus, it is unlikely a permissions problem.
