How about just doing a simple script to verify if in fact it is working correctly.

Try just creating a TEST.KIX file and put in.

use R: "\\FS1\REALEC"
Maybe try with and without the quotes " "

Then run from a DOS box.

C:\TEMP\KIX32.EXE C:\TEMP\TEST.KIX (or whatever path you use for this test).
