Hi all,

I've been searching, but I can't seem to find anyone having the same problem:

I have setup KiXtart as per the manual (as far as I can tell).

The logon script is set on the NT4.0 Server to Script1.bat.

Loging on to NT and 2000 works fine, the drives are mapped, and all is good.

Under 9x (98 actually) the script fails to execute.

Any hints?

Yeah, KXRPC is running.

Somthing else that might help... if I run the script on the 9x box from a DOS prompt, it works.

All the DLL's are in C:\Windows\ as per the manual.

Does it flash?

Maybe add a pause statement in your NTLOGON.BAT file..

Comment out the @ECHO OFF to watch file execute.

Please search the BBS for 'login.bat', there are a couple of example batch files posted that work with all Windows OS. Additionally, the KiXtart Manual contains examples, too.

I've been looking through the logon.bat files on the system, and can't find anything that works...

I tried changing the file to
code:
%0\..\Kix32.exe %0\..\test
And nothing changed from this point of view.

I tried taking out the @ECHO OFF and adding a few more lines to be output. The window doesn't appear to flash at all.

I guess this suggests that the .bat isn't running? Any further hints?

Shown us exactly what use have placed in the user account profile to call the logon.bat.

Do you have the logon.bat, KiXtart files and scripts located on ALL domain controllers in the logon domain?

OK.

In the 'Profile' section of 'User Properties' in 'User Administrator' on the PDC (we have only one PDC) I have entered:
'Script1.bat' (the .bat file with the KiXtart lines in it)

The KiXtart files are all placed in the netlogon share of the PDC.

Interestingly from the command line on the W98 box I can type:
//eugene/netlogon/Script1.bat
and it executes the KiXtart script OK.
