Some pupils at my school have realised that they can close kix, by clicking on the x in the corner, even though I have the Hide console command in my script the box still shows up for a brief moment... Is their any way to prevent them from doing this? Or a solution that stops them from closing the script.

Cheers

Steve

hmmm ... Break OFF at the beginning of the script should prevent that (It'll logoff current user on closing the script)
Or you can also as this is default behavior dismiss the break on statement you might have [Big Grin]

I am not sure where but I think that I read someone got over that issue by modify a DLL to remove the little "x" and "Cancel" button. It's time to hit the search engine here and elsewhere I guess.

It seems I need a copy of visual C workbench in order to edit the MSnet32.dll to hide the cancel button, does anyone out know jow I can get my hands on a copy?

The other issue is disabling that confounded x.. Cant find anything on this...

I not sure but I think NTDOC has a link to a compiler on his site. If not I believe there is a free Borland version available on the net. I believe this is what was used in the past.

But go to Jooel's (Lorenko) site. He has the modified dll stored in his download section.

Dear,

The related topics
edit msnet21.dll
Hide CANCEL button
How do I hide logon scripts ?

And a note from Ruud about it
quote:

Note that KiXtart 2001 tries very hard to quickly hide the 'Please wait' dialog, so your users should hardly see the dialog...
Regards,

Ruud

greetings.
