Hello, As you can tell I am a newbie, so please be nice to me.... You can be nasty to me in six months time... [Confused]

We are currently running Kix32 v 3.63 using ScriptLogic.

On last saturday morning we experienced error messages saying "Kixtart is either missing or corrupted. Scriptlogic will not run" with only an Ok button to click. Obviously the users had no shared drives or printers available to them.

Whilst updating ScriptLogic on the monday morning I replicated it from our central server to all our other servers and this seemed to fix the problem.

This morning (Wednesday) we experienced the same problem at some sites, and again, replicating the changes (even though non were made today) seems to have fixed it.

Could anyone shed any light on why this might be happening?

Most of us here don't use ScriptLogic.

On the ScriptLogic Website, they have a pretty active forum for ScriptLogic.

Thanks - I shall have a look at the Scriptlogic site - I didn't spot the BBS before.

Re: AntiVirus - We use McAfee Virus Scan on Clients, VirusScan TC on Citrix Servers (these seem to be unaffected) and NetShield on Servers. All are updated with the latest definitions automatically. Is McAfee a known problem causer? We have been using it for years and Kix for about 12 months without problem.

Check one of the failing workstations and note all available information abotu the KiXtart executable like version, file size, date stamp, and so on. then compare with the original source on your distribution servers to find out what's different. Then do a binary compare if everything else is identical to see whether there have been some bytes changed. Finally, check the KiXtart executable with two separate antivirus scanners to make sure it's not infected.
