funkester funkester Fresh Scripter Registered: 2002-10-21 Posts: 12	Hi, I want to record the workstation name to a file when someone logs in. I also want to check the file before writing the machine name to see if the machine name already exists, if it does then do not add the name again. I want to build a list of the desktops on my network and I want it to run like this automatically when the login script runs. I don't know how to achieve this and would be very greatful of some help. Lonkero Lonkero KiX Master Guru Registered: 2001-06-05 Posts: 22346 Loc: OK	greg, dunno what you are doing with the info, but simpliest way to achieve this would be with WriteProfileString() with it, you can easily keep up the info and write there every time the user logs in and there is not going to be dublicates, only updates of the same fields... check that link... ah, and btw, the resulting file is in ini-format, so it should be easy to use and control it. cheers. _________________________ ! download KiXnet
