What does errorcode #5 mean from an OPEN command?

Hmm, I did check the manual!!!, KixTart95 v 3.61 (came with the 3.62 zip file). Page 73 shows errors (-3, -2, -1, 0, >0).

But, if error 5 is ACCESS DENIED? and the rights are EVERYONE - FULL on the NT server for that file....

Is there a "Shared Write" option? Can multiple folks have the file open for writing?

Multiple folks cannot have one file open for write, only read. I would expect an error 32 for multiple accesses though, error 5 is usually security related.

It was security related... someone had deleted the file and when KIXTART recreated the file, it was an RX file...
