I have a problem with a WIN98 PC. This script runs fine on my XP box but but not on 98. Both PC's have the same ver(410) of KIX, exe and dll's. I get an error 53 for the SendMessage on the 98 box. (ERROR_BAD_NETPATH [from the help file])

rocco, first thing that comes to mind is that win9x does not support net send (which is what I think the sendmessage uses)...
or alerter service or whatever.
can't recall cleanly as I don't have any of those, but if you search on the bb about sendmessage, say since last year you probably will find some answers.
other way is to wait for others to reply with more specific answers...
I think ti's the other way around. SENDMESSAGE (NET SEND) works for sending messages from Windows 9x computers. However, in order to receive a message a separate executable is required.
Can you ping to OREGANOXP3 from the Windows 9x machine and does theat one show up in the Network Neighborhood?
