Our travelling users have NT on thier machines and we are using a VPN to connect them into our network. I know that NT is not like WIN9x in that it wont allow you to login to a domain after you have logged into the machine. Because of this I have written a script that has the user enter thier username and password and uses the USE command in KiX to connect them to the needed resources. However I am finding that I have to write a new script for every different group because drives are mapped by group and the INGROUP command doesnt want to work for me because the @USERID is the one used to log into the local machine (which I have had them set to the same thing as the Domain username and password), so when I check IF INGROUP it tells me that they are not a member of the group. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the INGROUP to work when they arent logged into the domain, or any other ideas? Any help would be apprieciated.

you could recreate the global domain groups on the local nt workstations. and use the following......

if ingroup("local group") = 2
use x: "\\server\share"
endif

Don't know how well this would work but it sounds good on paper

the hard part is having to create local groups on all nt workstations
