Looking in the documentation for CALL we see:

CALL "script name"

Or..

CALL "scriptname.kix"

But, from what I have seen in the %LOGONSERVER%\NETLOGON share, this does not work properly. What you have to do to make this work is:

CALL @ldrive+"scriptname.kix"

If you initiate the "main" .KIX file from the NETLOGON share wouldn't the sub files be called like how it is specified in the documentation?

Thanks,

Kent

I set my secondary scripts in subfolders, so my script looks like this...
code:
CALL @STARTDIR + "\_auxscr\WinVNC\vnc_95.kix"

My 1/2 cent...

kent, what are the macros for @curdir and @startdir looking when it's failing?

if either one points to elsewhere that may explain it...

I suspect the same, I wouldn't be surprised if it looks in the following areas:
1) the current directory (whatever @CURDIR) is
2) the %PATH% directories
3) maybe even in %WINDIR% and/or %WINDIR%/SYSTEM32
Basically all directories that the KiXtart executable would look in too, in the same order

Thanks for the responses!

Looking at these macros, any one of these would work..

@LDRIVE - Drive that is redirected to \\logonserver\NETLOGON
@CURDIR - Current directory
@SCRIPTDIR - Directory of current script

The question is why doesn't Kixtart do the call (by default) from the same directory?

I did not realize that this was an issue until I started testing the script more thoroughly under Windows NT 4. My bad. [Frown]

Thanks,

Kent

when you do the call output also @curdir.
it might not just be netlogon.

In test script, we are using MCA's KIX410UPDATE.EXE (with some modifications) and is launched from %windir%.. The KIX32.EXE is in C:\WINNT..

Cheers,

Kent

Jooel,

Get the following result..
quote:

Script error: unknown or unexpected command [C:\!Kix]!

Hmm..

Get the same thing from the server..
quote:

Script error: unknown or unexpected command [\\SERVER\netlogon]!

Thanks,

Kent
