Hi

I have setup a win2k pc, run sysprep, ghosted it and then used the image on another pc. The problem I now have is that the script file runs twice (concurrently). On a non sysprepped pc there is no problem. The script runs once.

There is also another problem, not Kix related but only happened after sysprep. When I logon to the pc, it automatically opens an explorer window with My Documents displayed, which I don't want. I have checked on this forum and also spent some time on the Microsoft site, but so far haven't found an answer.

Has anyone else had these problems, or does anyone have any idea on how to solve them?

Any help gratefully received.

Regards

Alan

ah...
I would check first all the run keys and startup folders.

sounds weird but it can come from registry.

Thanks. I have tried that, but can't find anything that would seem to cause it. Checked the registry, profiles etc, but still can't find what is causing the problem. The script is being called from a batch file on an NT server. I have a PDC and a BDC. Both have the same info in the netlogon share. I thought that it may be running it from both servers, so I shut one down. Still the same problem.

Bizarre!!

Any other thoughts?

Alan

how you call the script?
usermanager has probably: "my_batch.bat"
and the batch-file calls kix:
%0\..\kix32 %0\..\kixscript

or?

Exactly as you have put it. It is obviously a workstation based problem as a non sysprepped PC doesn't do it. I must add that this machine was set up to clone a suite of 30 and I didn't take an image before I sysprepped it!!

Still struggling. It isn't anything to do with Kix. If I just put a simple batch file into the user profile Logon Script Name, it runs it twice. I guess I will have to carry on looking elsewhere.

Thanks for your suggestions.
