I am very new to Kix so try not to beat me up on this... We are running into an issue on some of our Windows 95 PC's some of the time. The issue is that our INGROUP statements are returning a value of "0". We are not running the RPC service on the servers but from what I have gathered, it is not mandatory. Like I said it only happens on some of the "windows 95" PC's some of the time. the ingroup statements look like this.

IF ingroup("Administrative Reports") = 1
$drive_letter="V:" $drive_name="\\NAS2\ADMIN_REPORTS$" GOSUB mapping
? "Admin Reports Drive Mapped"
? "Succes: @ERROR"
ELSE
? "FAIL: @ERROR"
ENDIF

rpc is needed for localgroups in domain.

so is this local- or globalgroup?

and are the failing machines osr2?
any updates done?
ie ver(sion)?
kix ver?

can't say any direct answer now, but these help finding the source...

also, put directly after the query @error to get the error kix returns if any...

I would help if you would have posted the @ERROR code that was put out by your script. Also, try a simple IF INGROUP() instead of IF INGROUP()=1.

What if anything, is in the KiXtart.log?

Is there a NetWare client provider order issue?

They are osr2, IE version 5.0, no updates done, tried multiple kix versions but am testing with 4.10. Kix does not return an error, it just returns a value of "0" for the group membership.

The kixstart log only displays one entry when the script is executed;

Failed to locate/connect to a KXRPC server Error : The network path was not found. (0x35/53)
