MattB MattB Lurker Registered: 2002-07-24 Posts: 1 Loc: UK	I am having difficulty mapping drives for all 95 & 98 and some W2K builds. All NT builds are fine. I am trying to map a drive letter (USE) to a NETAPPS box rather than a regular Microsoft server. The error logged is: The description for Event ID ( 1355 ) in Source ( KIXTART ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: KXGetDC : failed to find a domain controller for nokiaukrd Error : The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. (0x54b/1355). Any ideas???

I believe it is similar to the Netapps box if I am not mistaken. I am not having any problems with the device we are using. I am asking you can you see this device on your network? If so, have you created shares on the netapp box? If shares are created, can you get to the share via UNC path? _________________________ Steven Myers Network Admin

Howard Bullock Howard Bullock KiX Supporter Registered: 2000-09-15 Posts: 5809 Loc: Harrisburg, PA USA	I have isolated this error in my environment to KXRPC running on the master account domain and local scripts that use INGROUP("ResouceDomain\GroupName"). The KXRPC service can not find the resource domain because there is only a one way trust from the resource to the master. The KXRPC service seems to enumerate trusted domains in order to process the INGROUP request for the resource domain. Since the trust does not go in that direction, the domain can not be found. Hence the error. Does this come anywhere close to your configuration with the EMC? What is "nokiaukrd"?
