I have been digging through a lot of posts, but cannot find what I'm looking for. I need to make a script that will spit out the size of sub-directories in a directory. Something like:

1) List all folders

2) Check size

3) Send mail to user
I have no problem with number 3, number 1 and 2 are just beyond my limited reach. Can someone give a push in the right direction please?

**Sorry** I got a little lazy here, I am running KiXtart 4.01 and I am performing this on an NT 4.0 server.

The easiest way would be tu use DIRUSE.EXE from the Windows Resource Kit.

And the the following posts:
http://81.17.37.55/board/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=001657
http://81.17.37.55/board/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=002315
http://81.17.37.55/board/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=002771
http://81.17.37.55/board/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000778

they are all variations of the same problem. you couild also type DIRUSE into the BBS search and find a couple more posts.

Kellar,

I think the important thing is to use the "Search" option above.

Dear,

Searching through your disk can enormous amount of time. Mostly it is better to
know what kind of files are using those space. Mostly too big mail files or un-
wanted download and EXE files.
So it is more important that there is a policy within your organization, which
kind of files may be store on your computer environment.
Of course there are always heavy users, but for them you can extend your policy
a little bit. The prices for diskspace is very low (80 GB for $99).
greetings.

Dear,
I think Kent was referring to the BBS search link at the top of the page.

That is correct. Rather than expecting/anticipating a solution, the user tries a search first...

I couldn't agree more Kent. I always search before bothering to post a thread. In this case, I didn't know that "diruse" what the magic word.

'directory size' would have worked, too, as search words.

OK, Time to come to the defense of a fellow Canadian...

Enough already with the flaming. Kellar has already apologized... what more do you want?

Sorry people. All I can say is that I did do some searching beforehand to try and find the posts. I'll be a little more thorough next time.
