srtAD srtAD Lurker Registered: 2002-07-18 Posts: 1	Hi all. I am trying to run a basic script on win9x and 2k clients. Everything works great on the win9x clients but INGROUP does not work on the 2k clients. I have tried running kix32 from both netlogon and system32 folders and neither works. I am using Kix 4.10 I am also getting this in the event log The description for Event ID ( 1722 ) in Source ( KIXTART ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: UserGetLocalGroups failed Error : The RPC server is unavailable. (0x6ba/1722). (moderator MCA: extend subject) [ 02. Is it on a Native or Mixed Mode Network? Are some or all of your W2k Clients failing? Did this just start when you went to Kixtart 4.10? Jean-Claude Jean-Claude Fresh Scripter Registered: 2002-10-26 Posts: 6 Loc: Dallas, Tx	I have also gotten this error using 4.10 (and an older version but I don't recallw hich one). The error, in my case, logs about 5 red stop signs in the application event log when I try to see if the user is in a specific domain group. This error is in the event viewer of the client. I am using both windows 2000 and NT 4 clients in a mixed windows 2000 domain (with some NT 4 BDC's still in place). I get about 5 errors from the one lookup. The command I am using is: if ingroup("NoSer") ? "No SER on file" endif Any ideas? The NoSER group is a domain global group. [ 26. October 2002, 17:18: Message edited by: Jean-Claude ]

Anonymous Anonymous Unregistered	You might try uninstalling and reinstalling Kixtart on your Domain Controller(s). I'm hoping this isn't an active directory incompatiblity with the kxrpc, because we are intermittantly seeing the same issue. We've reinstalled kxrpc on the dc's by running the following command from \winnt\system32: code: kxrpc -remove Then: code: kxrpc -install net start kxrpc
