Very soon you will have to add NT 4.0 to this group, at least if you use COM-scripting, because WMI and ADSI has to be installed as an extra service on Win95/Win98 and NT 4.0 (NT 3.xx is out). Win Me is kind of hybrid, it is a wintendo better implemented in the 'new world' than NT

Dear,
We agree that the Windows 95 and 98 are very old. - Windows 95 can be tuned very easily but you must configurate every manually. Some new software can't be installed on it. - Windows 98 is the most instable version of windows. - Windows ME is a good alternative for windows 95, but it do too much things for you. It costs an enormous amount of diskspace, but nearly all your hardware can be installed automatically. And second benefit it: its structure is a little bit similar with Windows XP.
We prefer at most the windows XP & 2000 releases. greetings.

hang on, hang on. the equation:
"wintendos is = to nintendo , which means crappy and old?"
I would like to reformulate as:
"wintendos is = to nintendo , which means good for games, but not much else!"
As in - not a serious business machine. Wintendo is bitch'n for playing Diablo II ! That's the way I always viewed the term Wintendo.

the only thing 'wintendo' has is a higher frame rate for graphics. Usually due to the protected mode drivers exist in NT/2k/XP...
Therefore (especially with 2k and XP) Wintendo means a higher framerate for games vs. a more stable environment. With anything else, there is no comparison, unless we are talking about a P133 with 32 MB of ram
