I can't imagine staying with that old a version. Upgrade, UPGRADE, U P G R A D E! You need to do all of them. How complex it is depends on the clients and previous install. If everyone runs it from NetLogon then it's pretty straight forward. Just put all the binaries in NetLogon.
If you have Wintendos, then you'll need to install the newer KXRPC on all the DCs.
