I have a problem with a script that I inherited from another developer. I can't seem to close the network drives we opened after we are finished with them. Part of the script follows:

use x: \\hemlock\basis
use y: \\hemlock\vandcan
use z: \\hemlock\etc

We do some things!

use x: /delete /persistent
use y: /delete /persistent
use z: /delete /persistent

When we check My Computer the Drive letters are still there. The computer in question is running Windows 2000 Professional.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help

Are they just displayed or can you actually access the content fo the drives?
What is the output for the following code:
code:
use x: \\hemlock\basis
use y: \\hemlock\vandcan
use z: \\hemlock\etc
;We do some things!
use x: /delete /persistent
? ''+@ERROR+' - '+@SERROR
use y: /delete /persistent
? ''+@ERROR+' - '+@SERROR
use z: /delete /persistent
? ''+@ERROR+' - '+@SERROR

The error messages should all return an error code of '0' if the code worked correctly.

Usually if you can't remove a drive it's because it's in use....

When I had some persistent drives that would NOT go away, I deleted the drive, remapped it(to a different share) /persistent:no and deleted again.

that usually got it. If not, a file was in use.

make sure it is a map and not a subst...
