Bundle your script and kix32.exe into a single exe?

I want to be able to combine the kix32.exe and kixtart.kix file into one single exe.
KiXscripts Editor has the ablility to do this but you have to buy it. I don't like the kixscripts editor. The only thing I like about it is that it can make a single exe, I prefer to use visual kixtart editor to edit.
Is there any other utility that you know of that will make a single exe?

Richard, my boo, noted ! Can't tell from rshafer0's comments whether it was the encryption (hiding) piece, or the packaging piece that was of interest here. But your right, probably the packaging piece.
But it sounds like there may be a demand for this type of utility though, if only someone would step-up to developing such a thing ![[Wink]](images/icons/wink.gif)
MCA, do you have anything to add to this discussion ?

I use Iexpress.exe to create .exe packages. You can get this from Microsoft in their IEAK packages. Also, for a little less configurable solution, you can use ZipCentral from http://zipcentral.iscool.net ... It isn't perfect, but I've found it quite adequate for packaging.

Our contribution.
We are doing following things:
- reduce kixtart script code by remove unwanted comment statements and in our situation
also unwanted print statements with our kixstrip tool. - make script secure with Richard's tool KiXCrypt.
- create an iexpress package which runs automatically encrypted result file
and it is using his own set of kixtart files. Those files are included in
iexpress package.
The result is: script is always running with the right kixtart files and no
files will remain after completion.

The IExpress package which can also be found on our site is very handy.
- It is compact.
- It is enough options for most type of installations.
- You can create very fast a package.
- You only need take care of some simple rules.
Our kix???update.exe and kix???registry.exe are using this
program also.

True, MCA.
I noticed your version is MUCH smaller than downloading the whole IEAK 6. However, the version of Iexpress.exe that I use is 2.0 instead of 1.0. Unfortunately, this isn't well-documented by Microsoft, so I don't know what differences there are between the packages.

Thanks for the information. We are already using the latest 2.0 release, but our site contains
still the iexpress 1.0 release.
We will update it.
Your question: what are the differences? We doesn't know, but the microsoft site shows
all kind of possibilities about "how to use it".
F.e. another way of running with/without existing temporary directory.
Search for iexpress on site http://support.microsoft.com
for more information.

Hi guys,
There is already documentation about IExpress available.
F.e. IDK99.EXE contains f.e. Navigating The IExpress Configuration Wizard.doc file.
Be-aware that it will be transform to a 8.3 formatted filename (= NAVIGA~1.DOC).
We advise you to change it to a TXT file. Our system had problem with opening it
as a DOC file.

What kind of .txt file is that, MCA?
I tried downloading it and it has a lot of garbage in it that isn't pure txt.

Is a document created by Microsoft. It looks indeed very strange, but we get something readable.
As DOC file (= original extension) we must reboot our system. As TXT is looks a little bit strange.
