sambapdc sambapdc Just in Town Registered: 2014-12-14 Posts: 2 Loc: italy	Hello, PsExec, starting with version 2.1, which was released on March 7, 2014, now encrypts all communication between local and remote systems. No more passwords sent in the clear! In other words, we modify via login script HKLM (with admin rights)without risk? Thank in advance SambaPDC

NTDOC NTDOC Administrator Registered: 2000-07-28 Posts: 11629 Loc: CA	Not sure how login script (certainly text unless using an encrypted script) and PsExec are related here for you. Using remote (which is what I think you mean) is already not in clear text. It is using your token to see if you have rights or not, it's not using your password. If you want a local user to have or use admin rights based on another account whether or not you used PsExec would still be in text (again, unless in an encrypted or tokenized script).

Glenn Barnas Glenn Barnas KiX Supporter Registered: 2003-01-28 Posts: 4402 Loc: New Jersey	There are tools here in the Script Vault that accomplish what it seems you are looking for. With the scripts published there, the user DOES NOT have admin rights - the login script detects that some admin task is needed and submits a request. A server then pushes the task with admin credentials to the workstation to perform the task. The whole detect/submit/run process takes just a few seconds.
