Hi Guys

I have a large script that maps drives for each letter (for a customer of ours)

It looks like the below
$Groups = "Marketing_gbl","Marketing RO_gbl"
$Drive = B:
$Shares = "\\servername\Marketing"
CheckGroups($Groups)

It maps ok when I run the script, however, it seems to always lose the connection to the drives when they log back in remotely, and need to manually run the .kix file each time they want access to the files.

Is there a command that I can put in to make it a persistent drive mapping? if so can someone advise?

Thank you!

Note: I didn't create this script myself, I am doing this as a favour for someone, so trying to look into it and resolve!

Cheers again

You could add the /persistent option.

 Code:
....
USE E: "\\server\share" /PERSISTENT
....

Welcome to KORG!

When you say "logging in remotely", do you mean via VPN?

If so, the method of VPN login is the issue. If the user logs into the PC and then establishes the VPN connection, the login has already occurred (using cached domain credentials, most likely) and the login script won't run. For the login script to run, the user must have their VPN configured so they can log in and connect to the VPN at the same time. The method to configure this varies between XP and Win7/8, but the idea is the same. The user enters their password, selects the VPN connection, the VPN tunnel is established, and the login credentials sent to the DC over the VPN. Since this is now a normal login procedure, the login script will run and map the drives.

If you can't configure the VPN to connect prior to logon, you'll have little choice but to have the users run the login script manually.

Review the method used in your script to map the drives - you may be able to add a /PERSISTENT option to it, but that doesn't always reconnect over VPN sessions started after logon, either.
