I'm looking for a way to detect the users videocard (we have intel and nvidia graphic cards)
and i want it to set to clone mode automaticly.
I really don't know where to search or start. i've searched this forum offcource.

the answer why i would like to do this is, some users disconnect the second monitor or beamer and connect there own device such as a notebook or tablet. but when they connect it back the computer lost it's clone setting and they need to set it manually...........but that's the problem ;\) they don;t do that.

thanks

There is no cure for stupid. If I walked around and found users with no display on their second monitor, I would take it away from them and give it to someone else.

Intel and nvidia have their own way of controlling the display separate from how Windows does it.

I had a user last week that was using a shared PC with dual monitors.

Someone had moved the taskbar for the left monitor to the right one, so the user lifted the monitors and switched their position so the taskbar was on the left side.

After 2 days she called me to complain that that her mouse wasn't working, because she couldn't get it to travel onto the display on the right side.

... Oh well, it pays the bills.

More often than not, they don't even call... just make do without.

Last week I was at a user's station to install some software and the mouse pointer would not move horizontally across the side-by-side displays. The displays had been rearranged so that they were kitty-corner so the only way to get from one to the other was diagonally.

The funniest is when they inadvertently invoke the hotkey combination that flips a display to portrait. We have users that do it to coworkers as a prank.
