I've been playing around with the Outlook Signature in the vault to pull in the AD Telephone Number. Is there any way to change it to International using code.

E.g. 01111 111111 to +44 1111 111111

Thanks

Not sure where you're wanting to change it.

 Code:
if left($str,1) = "0"
   $str = "+44 "+Right($str,-1)
endif
?

Another option would be to put it in the correct format in AD ;\)

In my opinion it is better to fix the cause instead of fix the result.

Cheers Shane, I'll have a look at that.

Hear what you're saying Mart, but we've decided to go for a UK and an International signature so it makes more work for me.

If you are using the Vault script, you can use one template for UK and one for International, and just put the prefix in the template..

We've deployed the v1.7 release to a company with 6 templates and about 30 unique signature configurations, based on OU or AD Group. No changes to coding or anything. The 6 templates represent 5 different divisions within the company, plus a unique template for management.

Thanks Glenn,

I did look at the Vault script, also been looking at a vB script and although we've gone for calling a vB from a kix login, i'm still looking at other options.

Since it might not always be myself that needs to modify, I'm still evaluating other types and what can be acheived.

FYI - The version we offer has a GUI management interface. When we deploy this to clients, we customize the templates if necessary and then turn the app over to the person that will administer it. Generally, this is NOT a systems admin or even a "technical person", but often an executive staff admin. This allows management of signatures by OU, Group, or other method by selecting an AD object, then associating it with a signature template and an image.

Users can update their sig at any time by simply browsing to the network folder and double-clicking a bat file. The same bat file can be called from the login script (or the underlying Kix script called directly).

If you can differentiate the UK and "Other" users via any AD method (OU, Group, or list of specific users) then you can assign specific templates for each.

The vault version is mostly the same, but lacks one or two minor features and does not have the management tools.

Ok, back on this. I've been looking at the replace string and wondering if I can use it to amend the number pulled in by $strphone.

$master = 01111
$new = +44 1111

$replace $master with $new

Then plant new into signature using objselection

Modifying the number is not that difficult.

 Code:
$master = 01111
$new = "+44 " + SubStr($master, 2)

If you use $new in the script that creates the signature you have the new value in the signature.

Btw, we just experienced 4.62 locking as a process somehow and it was stopping AD Profile home folder mapping from applying.
