I have a single ip-mapped printer, and it does not show the path in HKCU.
only under system in HKLM. that's the difference with ip-map :P
it basically is a local printer.
so, I can't really help you guys trace this one, sorry.

ok, reading your post and checking your names, it seems that it only cares about the name, not the sharename.
lol, it actually says that in the definition of the udf "printers name"
not clear, but it is there ;\)

so, check against:
\\server\printername

you guys might also want to check:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PrinterPorts

that might list the actual sharename, not sure.

I have this key:

\\server\HP LaserJet P4014/P4015 PCL6

Value: winspool,Ne07:,15,45

I did try the primapstate with the \\server\printername and it returned false but I will try again

If you want to give a new UDF a whirl, I'd appreciate your feedback.

This UDF eliminates the need to know the Printer Name. Add, Delete, Set Default, and check if the printer exists with only the share name.
