Austin Austin Seasoned Scripter Registered: 2002-01-24 Posts: 439	Has anyone had any trouble getting the addprinter connection to work consistently? I have an issue where at one run on a desktop the addprinterconnection (apc()) will work just fine... then on a subsequent run the apc() will just sit there for minutes before it returns.. if it does. It is not a driver or permission issue because if I close the script and run it again generally it will run fine. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. All clients are 2K or NT4 and the print server is 2000. Thanks for the help in advance. _________________________ Austin Henderson

If it is Professional, there is a 10 user limit on concurrent connectiosn, thereofore you might have reached the connection limit. What is the error code of the failed ADDPRINTERCONNECTION? Ccheck it with code: ? @ERROR+' - '+@SERROR directly after the ADDPRINTERCONNECTION command. _________________________ There are two types of vessels, submarines and targets.

BrianTX BrianTX Korg Regular Registered: 2002-04-01 Posts: 895	I'm starting to wonder if it has more to do with how you're calling your kix32 .kix script. Strange things seem to happen to me if either the kix32.exe or script.kix file is not referenced directly. Sometimes, the script times out and doesn't execute properly. I realize this may have nothing to do with the problem, but if you run the script manually and it works every time, it makes me wonder... Brian

Austin Austin Seasoned Scripter Registered: 2002-01-24 Posts: 439	Calling the script manually does not necessarily mean it will run.. it just means that it runs on that second call. It is sporadic. Regarding the error codes... it is not coming back from the APC() function so I dont think any error codes are bing generated. I added check output statements along the way and once it goes into whichever apc() I am trying to call it will not come back. That is why I responded with the statement about I am not getting error codes. If the script is not stepping past A... B will not be called. Perhaps I am wrong.. I will give it a shot for you but like I said it is a hard problem to duplicate... I cannot duplicate it until a user calls me and says there login script has been sitting there for 10 min. Then when they run it again all is ducky. Thanks for the sugguestions... _________________________ Austin Henderson
