First - great forum
We have a PDC and over a dozen BDC to cover a large geographical area using a netlogin share which is replocated across BDC's. To call a kix run and script from a batch I use a line as follows:
%0\..\kix32.exe %0\..\Scrnsav.SCR
my understanding is that it will try to run the kix and .scr from the same folder as the calling batch?
I want to send a batch file to logged on users which when run will envoke the kix and a script however i want the machine to go to the nearest BDC to run the replicated kix and script from there rather than solely from where the calling batch file was located.
Is there a command line to do this instead of the %0\... etc?
grateful for any help

Am I correct in assuming that this is not a logon script?

If not, then place your script on a share on each PDC/BDC (or...the %WINDIR%\repl\export directory will replicate your script to the 'netlogon' share). The user will have already logged on using the domain controller that responded fastest, thus you could use the macro @LSERVER to point to your script.

Chris,
Aren't you putting the cart in front of the horse? @LSERVER being a KiX macro is only works in KiX. I think Cheshire wants to control from what DC KiX and the script execute.

True dat. I am getting a little ahead of myself. I guess what is confusing to me is the question of %0\..\. Can you be more specific as to why you think this might be a problem?

the envirometn variable %logonserver% might be of some use, if the computers are NT based

I do not think win9x has this macro, but could be created via the kix logon script.

bat file.
code:
%logonserver%\kix32 %logonserver%\script.kix
