What version of Kix32 are you using?
Does your user profile specify "kix32.exe kixtart.kix" in the login script setting? (or the name of your login script file instead of Kixtart.Kix).
Version 4.61 is recommended - 4.60 had some bugs. Running "kix32.exe" without args is supposed to invoke "kixtart.kix" by default, but this doesn't seem reliable in later versions of Kix & Windows, so specifying the login script is recommended.
You don't need any other files (DLLs) from the Kix package - just Kix32.exe and your script. The DLLs are only needed to support ancient Win9x systems.
