Right... I have the tokencache key and if i delete it and log back on it rebuilds itself but still missing this new security group that i am a member of. Two of my colleagues both login using the same scripts and are also members of this new group and they also do not get a mapping. They do not even have kixtart in the regisrty !?!?!

Ok, smells like an issue with the group or with replication between your DC's.

If you run GPRESULT or GPRESULT /R (/R is for Win7) from a command window you will see a list of groups the user belongs to in AD. The group should be there. If not then I would delete the group and recreate it, delete the kixtart tokencache and try again.
