Putting the binaries (EXEs and DLLs) in %windir%on all you Win9x machines will mitigate the redirector issue. You should keep a copy in NetLogon as well.
Installing the KXRPC service is unrelated to your posted question. Your use of InGroup will determine its need. It is a very stable service and does not require much effort to install.
