Whenever my windows 9x users logon the network, instead of reading their individual rights the script is run with guest priviledges.

This only happens when a user is authenticated by my BDC, and if the OS is Windows 9x. My Windows NT/2000 users are not affected. The symptoms arose when I was forced to reinstall Windows NT 4.0 Server.

If you can offer me any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey fiskite00, welcome to the board and CONGRATULATIONS for getting member number 5000

We could use a little more information here, but I'll try to take a stab at it even without the pertinent info.

You say you rebuilt your BDC, did you verify that you setup the file syncronization between the PDC and the BDC for the NETLOGON folder?
Did you install the KXRPC service on the BDC?

Please check this out and let us know.

If this is not the fix, then please let us know what version of KiXtart your using, where and how it is installed. Also please post the calling batch file and the script so that it can be reviewed for possible errors or omissons.

Good Luck and please post back to let us know how it goes.

Thanks for responding. Congratulations are also in store for you.

I will test the KXRPC service tomorrow when I get back to work. I have never used the KXRPC service. Whenever changes were made in the logon script, I would copy the script to the BDC. I could never get the NT 4.0 Directory replication service to work.

I neglected to mention that after reinstalling NT I simply copied the contents of the NETLOGON folder on my PDC to the NETLOGON folder on my BDC.

Thanks again.
