Did anyone ever notice the following behavior on Windows 7?
- Two local printers are installed (PDF printer and Snagit printer). No network printers are installed.
- When adding a network printer it is automatically set as default (dialog to choose if you want this does not show).
- When adding a second network printer there is an option to choose if you want this printer as default.
This is interfering with our printer script because it sets the wrong printer as default (automatically, the script does NOT do this). When all printers are there and the script runs for the second time the correct printer gets set as default.
A workaround might be adding all printers and after adding all needed printers select what printer should be default and set it but my guess is that there must also be a way to prevent Windows 7 from deciding what printer should be default. Anyone know how to do this? I’ve been googling but no luck yet.
