Good Morning All,

I really haven't had a chance to look at steelkix yet, but I think there will start to be confusion by the general public if UDFs and scripts are posted based on it in the general KiXtart forums. My suggestion would be if there is sufficient interest to create a steelkix forum(s) for everything related to it.

Regards,

Brad

Hi Brad,

There is a discussion going on in the moderators forum about this but there is no unanimous answer/opinion yet. For now just keep posting stuff like UDF's in the UDF section with a subject starting with SteelKix so they can easily be identified as suitable for SteelKix and not KiXtart. Depending on the amount of posts about SteelKix there might be a SteelKix section later.

While Steelkix is under development I don't think all those forums are needed, but I can certainly agree that a separate forum would be useful.

Well if the momentum continues for the next 3 months with no let up then I'll create a new forum and move the files as needed.

I know some of you guys think you want it but it is a bit of work to setup and then find that a few weeks down the road no one is posting new stuff.

It would make more sense to use the discussion board on the SteelKix site as it is a discrete product.

I agree no discussions, but I started seeing SteelKix UDFs popping into the UDF forum and my worry was that someone with little KiXtart experience would try to use one or more and wouldn't understand why they don't work.

I think at the very least the SteelKix UDFs should be moved under the SteelKix thread in the lounge.

Hi guys,

Point taken.
The last thing I want is to create confusion. I will stop adding Steelkix stuff to the KORG board.

No, they don't necessarily need to be moved.

The requirement for SteelKix should be noted in the pre-requisites. No SteelKix, no worky.

This applies for any UDF which requires non-standard support resources to function.

It would be nice to have one seperate subforum for all steelkix related discussions, but I don't want to mingle myself in this discussion to much. It's completely up to the moderators, since it's their board. I do actually want to keep posting things like updates here, since I can attract the relevant audience on this board.

Everybody is more then welcome to post whatever he/she made with SteelKix here as long as they make it clear in the comments that it is for Steelkix and not regular kixtart.
If Steelkix posts will continue to pour in then (as Doc said) a Steelkix section will most likely be created.

You know, I see a lot of SteelKix posts these days.
But in the UDF's posted for them you do not see the requirements to run it.
As this is a KiXtart forum, users might think they only need Kixtart to run it. As there is no mention whatsoever what is needed to install/register or even which exact .Net Framework is needed let alone a specific service pack of that framework and/or patches.

So before you would even discuss a forum of something that isn't even clear on the installation or usage there should be a SteelKiX sticky on that and the UDF's should be updated with requirements and be deleted after a grace period if they are not.

Dear SteelKix supporter,
There have been a number of posts to the KiXtart board recently by people with an interest in SteelKix.

This activity has been discussed by the moderators and we have reached the following decision:

* Presently there is not sufficient traffic to warrant dedicated SteelKix forums.
* To avoid confusion SteelKix posts will be restricted to the Advanced Scripting and Lounge forums.
* SteelKix posts must be identified in the post subject title.

The moderators will be moving all SteelKix posts to the Lounge or Advanced Scripting forums as appropriate and amending the subject titles where necessary.

SteelKix related posts will continue to be welcome.

If you have any question about the decision please contact any one of the moderators.
