Hi Rudd et. al.,

Just in case you aren't aware, @PRODUCTTYPE for Windows Server 2008 reports as "Windows Server Longhorn" in 4.60. Is it possible to have this fixed in the next release?

Regards,

Richard

Also, the all new Windows 7 Ultimate BETA is recognised by KiXtart 4.61 BETA 1 as:-

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

All the best,

Bill

hmm...
wonder what data Ruud is using to get the windows version.

Bill, what value you see in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

as the currentversion?
and buildlab?

Like said, I don't know how Ruud handles the version codes.
I think he is not accepting "unknown" as possibility but instead made kix just spit out some text instead.

In Kix ver 4.60 and beta 4.61 @PRODUCTTYPE seems to tag Win 7 beta and Win 7 Ultimate as Windows Vista Ultimate, and tag Win 7 Professional as Windows 6.1/1. Is this something that can be updated in the next release ?

Thanks,
Phill

I get "Windows 6.0 / 3" on a Windows 2008 SP2 32-bit terminal server, too, for some unknown reason.

CurrentVersion = 6.0
BuildLab = 6002.lh_sp2rtm.090410-1830
BuildLabEx = 6002.18005.x86fre.lh_sp2rtm.090410-1830

Phil

Just added a gazillion new versions (7, 2008 R2, Pro, etc) to RC1 of 4.61.

@PRODUCTTYPE = "Windows 7 Professional"
Windows 7 Pro is bypassing this, is that correct or is this called something else?

NEVERMIND, i found the answer, needed to add the wor Edition after it.

First of all please upgrade to the final version of 4.61. RC1 might still have some issues because it is kind of a beta version.

this code:
 Code:
Break on

@PRODUCTTYPE

Sleep 5

with 4.61 final on Windows 7 pro shows me:

 Quote:

Windows 7 Professional Edition

Did you see the small difference in the output?

[edit]
You just beat me in posting the fix.
Glad to hear that you found the issue yourself.
