What about a doctor? If you save 10 people's lives does that give you a free pass on raping a 14 year old girl? (rhetorical) How many touchdowns will excuse a double murder?
I think the point here is, we are all tired of seeing someone's FAME or POSITION excuse them from the consequences of their actions. "Jesus Juice" would put most people in jail. So would lying to Congress. So would using an intern as a personal humidor while at work.
While it is Common practice to only choose to remember a deceased person for their "positive" contributions, it doesn't REALLY make them into a good person.
MJ contributed a lot of music to the world and for that he was WELL compensated, but that doesn't make him a good person.
