Evidently, there was something wrong with the scripting (?). My whole kixtart.kix script had about 15 different if ingroup() statements in it. I broke out 7 of them and now have those 7 saved as separate .kix files, called from the original. It's now working quite well.
My whole thing was to assign printers from an old print server to a new one without logging in as each user. I used the DELPRINTERCONNECTION command to remove all the old printers and then the ADDPRINTERCONNECTION command to add the new ones. Finally got the bugs worked out and it's working like a charm.
