came up on this link,
http://lists.canonical.org/pipermail/kragen-hacks/2008-February/000480.html
the fun part is the... length of the script... around 40 rows - for a irc-client.. anyone wanna beat that with KiX? =)

Cute.

Hidden away in there is a little gem called "nc" which is an executable that allows arbitrary connection to a network socket.

The script is only really "printing" your typed commands to the socket and copying any incoming response to the tty which is why it's so short.

lol, I was tempted, but I only read the board while I am at work and actually had real work to do. I figured it would be better in KF anyway and I don't think I have the .net stuff here for that. Or is there a non-.net version?

KF at one point in time had net stuff in it, and i was wanting to do just this, make a IRC kix client. but the KF net stuff was very alpha.

normal KF had Socket support, in theory you could create an irc client with that, connect to a irc server on port 6667 and process the raw codes.
