first, this is my first script i try to create and my english is not so good!

But in this script i have problems with the command
 Code:
Use * /delete /persistant
.

If i use this command, then always in the Windows Explorer i can see the share, but with a red cross. If i then click on this share it is again there, without the cross and i can work in it as nothing happens.

This is my script:

 Code:

; der Netzlaufwerke und Drucker

  • I don't see the /Persistent (it is /Persistent)
  • If you want to use Exit, it only works if you set the error value. There is an item in the FAQ on it. At the end of the script, I think you don't need an Exit

Please, it's KiXtart, not KixTart!

Exit without a parm at the end of the script is superfluous but does not cause the problems outlined in my FAQ.

with /Persistent i become the Error: error in USE statement
without /Persistent the script terminates without an Error, but the network share is still mapped like described.
If i use the UDF-Script from Jens Meyer (sealeopard@usa.net) it works fine, but then i must know the drive letter and i must run the UDF for each letter...

@Les: sry, what means "parm"?

What version of KiX? on some older versions, you had to wrap the * in quotes.

Use "*" /Delete /Persistent

The Version is 4.60.0.0 Build 250.

But it was the mistake.
If i use quotes it works.
Fine thx!

Hmmm... Ruud said he fixed that. That's the last time I take his word for it.

Witto, I don't see any avatars or sigs.

I dug up the old thread. Guess I owe Ruud an apology. He only said it will work in 4.22 and didn't promise anything for newer versions.

The kix210.doc syntax and examples for use don't show any use of quotes. IMHO, this would be a bug.

Well the question I think would be whether it works with KiXtart 4.53 the same. The reason being is that 4.60 added some new ways and methods and I don't recall all of us spending a lot of time beta testing it before it was released - we did some but not like we did with previous versions.
It may just be one of those items that slipped back into the code by accident.

No, you should use whichever version you want to use.

I'm just speaking for myself and my own preference. If you don't use any feature that is currently having an issue then 4.60 should be just fine for you. I just feel more comfortable using 4.53 as I know it's been through a heck of a lot more testing than 4.60 has. Also 4.60 still has some outstanding bugs that have not been addressed by Ruud yet.

I have been testing. I don't see a bug
 Code:
;Script Options
$SO=SETOPTION("Explicit", "ON")
$SO=SETOPTION("NoMacrosInStrings", "ON")
$SO=SETOPTION("NoVarsInStrings", "ON")
BREAK ON

Use * /DELete /persistent
? @KIX
? @SCRIPTEXE

Get $SO

some results
 Code:
4.53
WKIX32.EXE

 Code:
4.60
KIX32.EXE

 Code:
4.60
WKIX32.EXE

I ran this too, but from a BAT file that had "net use" commands before and after the kix script to verify that shares were mapped and then not mapped. I also checked Explorer, and all mapped drives were gone. I experienced no problems

O/S where tested was Vista Ultimate X64.

Mine was Windows XP with SP2 English version
I checked the mappings manually, via Command Prompt (Net Use). They had all gone.
