The tuner is on it's way according to adobe. cannot provide any link right now tho.
Sidenote: Swedish lang is comming WINTER 2007.... That is - they don't know when they are done...

Just installed it and it is way faster then 7.x.
Only at first start up it is a bit slow but the second, third,etc... time it is d#mn fast.

Be aware that Reader 8 might not print properly on HP LaserJet printers that are running on PostScript drivers.
When printing a multiple page document only the first page will come out and all other pages are gone. Changing from PostScript to PCL drivers fixed this in my case (Win2K SP4 servers and WinXP pro SP2 wksta's). I did not test on other printer then the list below so it might be a combination of Reader 8 and the specific printers/OS.


  • HP LaserJet 2100
  • HP LaserJet 4xxx series (4000, 4050)
  • HP Colour LaserJet 4500
  • HP LaserJet 5000

Many things it could be. Who's PostScript drivers are you using?

I find that many PCL6 drivers are problematic because it now uses XML and if the driver interprets the document wrong then you get print errors all the time as though it is too strict and the older PCL5 is much more forgiving on errors. As for PostScript drivers maybe try the Adobe version and use the correct printer description file as well.

For now it works but this is going on the "ToDo/ToFix" list for our new network setup. In three months (more like two) we will be rebuilding a big part of our network. Doing these kinds of changes in the old setup is just not worth the trouble anymore. Lots of stuff is screwed up on the network our previous sysadmins and an external consulting company so who knows what happens if just the printer drivers are changed.

It's a long time ago, but I seem tor recall those type of problems with Adobe 7, to resolve the prob it required an adobe file to be loaded in he printer config... can't remember for the life of me what kind of files those were...
