I am looking for a good online file storage site that has a good size storage at a decent price(or free if possible)(used mainly for transfer style storage of media). It is not unusual for my files to be 200 MB in size with roughly 500 MB used per event. I probably need around 2 GB of total storage space.

I am trying to stay under $30/year as I will really use this sporadically (most likely 2 to 3 times a year). I don't want to poke a hole in my firewall for that.

A few of my trials of online services that provided this in the past have been disheartening at best. One of the services used a non-intuitive interface when the recipient tried to get the file.

I don't need any fancy features like video editing.

Can anyone point me to a service that would do good for this kind of thing?

Well one of the biggest is http://www.rapidshare.com not sure if it's what you're looking for or not.

There is also http://www.megaupload.com

From the ones that you just mentioned it seems that megaupload is targeted more at what I am looking for(if my 'quick glance' proves right).

I am looking at targeted distribution of the media files (family) as these are usually Christmas / birthday video kind of stuff. That or if storage is more permanent it would need an ACL based file access. (Dont want just anyone seeing the files).

Any other suggestions would be nice too.

Thanks for these suggestions NTDoc.

Hopefully I can hang around a bit more often in the coming future, it has been at least a year since I was able to spend any time here though :(.

Yes as I recall MegaUpload does not let Google scrape their file listing as Rapidshare does. However the FREE account will delete the files if not accessed within a very short period of time. If paid they won't until your subscription runs out, then they will delete your files.
