Hi,

I would like to make an informative messagebox in front of an ongoing kixtartscript. So the users can sit and read the messagebox while the script runs .exe installs for instance. I haven't been able to do that because either you have to press OK or something or else the messagebox will time out after - lets say - 5 seconds and then continue scripting. Is there any way I can have both a messagebox and an ongoing script at the same time? It doesn't have to be the messagebox funtion - any command can be used.

Regards
Brian

Use an HTML file and RUN.

put the messagebox in a second kix script.

in the first one, execute a RUN command with wkix32 and the second script :
 Code:
..
..
RUN 'WKIX32.EXE "my messagebox.kix"'
..
..

Nobody reads message boxes. They are so plain Jane. Even if you spice things up with KiXforms and RTF or HTML, chances are they will just hit the X in the corner.

IMHO logon scripts should be 100% silent and invisible, but hey, some admins like to show off their coding prowess. Go for the gusto and get Merlin to fly around the screen and announce your message with speech.
