Hi,
Just trying to get the lowdown on vista support in the new version at present we have a script that runs maps the users home drive then depending on what security group theyre in maps their network printer and group drives etc.

Will this now work in vista andits just the binary files i need to change as i was under the belief that I would have to redo all my scripts to wmi i think it was.

If anyone has some examples of how this works script wise for vista machines it would be greatly appreciated

Do you have a problem with user logon scripts not running on Vista? As far as I read te messages on this board, this problem only appears if
  • The user login on has Local Admin rights (per example Domain Admin)
  • User Account Control is switched on

Is this what you are looking for: After you turn on User Account Control in Windows Vista, programs may be unable to access some network locations?
If yes, please let us know. Maybe it can be put in Q&A on this board?

well UAC is definately on and we want it to stay on as its a somewhat important feature of vista.

and quite a few of our staff need local admin rights to their machines so this becomes an issue aswell

If your problem is the problem described in the kb937624 article, IMHO it is not a KiXtart issue. the problem will also be there using BAT, VBS or other ways to map drives in logon scrits.
I rhink this is a question for "Basic Scripting' or "The Lounge".
Why do people in your staff need local admin rights?
