My client wants me to replicate an INFO shared folder across his WAN (4 sites). The I: drive at each site has a number of business documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) that should be available to all users.
I have set up a timed event (each 2:00am) that does an XCOPY /D of the files (and folders) in the \\server\Info folder to the \\Office1\Info, \\Office2\Info, \\Office3\Info folders.
This has worked a treat till now, but he has now decided he may want to:
A) Remove a file
B) Rename a file (XCOPY leaves the old filename existing and copies the new one)
C) Move a file to another INFO folder (XCOPY ends up with the file in both folders).
I don't think that XCOPY can cover the above processes and wonder if Kix is a solution.
Please offer thoughts...
Thanks in advance... Michael

Thanks all for comments.
I downloaded both Unison and Robocopy and believe that Robocopy might be just what we need.

Thank you Glen...
Your key phrase "It's more difficult to set up the first time" illustrates my reason for continuing with Robocopy. But, you can now take credit for causing me to reschedule my weekend .
I will re-visit Unison during the weekend and see what I come up with.
Regards, Michael

I'll accept the "You're welcome" AND your example config(s) if you can locate them.

Thought you might be intersted in my efforts.
I struggled with Unison but had "permissions" issues and "tried" my patience (and knowledge).
Robocopy seems to be fitting to the task so I have configured a timed event and the client will run their tests of Robocopy over the next few weeks.
Again, the KiXtart BBS has been a wonderful guide for me. Thanks again to all contributors.
